Are you interested in maternity services and would like to get involved ? There are several opportunities within East Lancashire
The East Lancashire Maternity Group.
The East Lancashire Maternity Group works to involve the local community in how maternity services are run with the aim of ensuring every women receives the best possible care.
The group meets several times a year and also meets via a closed facebook group to discuss issues and topics.

Breastfeeding Peer Support
Would you like to support other mums around breastfeeding as a peer supporter?
In East Lancashire:
If you have some breastfeeding experience yourself and can spare a couple of hours a week then you can join the breastfeeding support project.
Full training is provided and then support in your role as a volunteer

National Childbirth Trust Peer Support Training
In Blackburn with Darwen:
Peer support volunteers are trained by our local NHS infant feeding team and supported in their volunteer placement e.g. some volunteers help at local breastfeeding drop-ins. Please ring Blackburn Birth Centre (01254 733434) and ask to be put in contact with the Specialist Infant Feeding Team for Blackburn with Darwen.
